Anna Louise Andersson is an award-winning Swedish vocalist, bandleader, and vocal educator whose international career has taken her from Scandinavia to London, Los Angeles, and New York. A colorful and multifaceted artist, she brings together a wide-ranging musical background rooted in jazz, soul, and Swedish folk music.
Raised in Southern Sweden, Anna began performing in London’s Soho scene before studying vocal performance in Los Angeles. She later earned her BFA in Jazz Vocal Performance from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhattan in 2011, where she studied with renowned musicians including Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, Charles Tolliver, and Jimmy Owens. Dr. Richard Harper became her private vocal teacher and longtime mentor.
Anna has performed internationally in clubs, concert halls, festivals, and cultural events, including appearances at Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Swedish Embassy in Washington, D.C. She has performed with ensembles and big bands in both New York and Sweden and has appeared on Swedish Television (SVT) and Ginger New York.
After returning to Sweden, Anna founded and led Anna Louise & the Fellas, a multicultural quartet that released the EP Tiger Loose in 2015. In 2016, she was named Jazz Artist of the Year at Hällevik Jazz Festival.
Alongside her performing career, Anna has more than 15 years of experience as a vocal coach and performance educator, with a focus on vocal technique, interpretation, artistic expression, and performance.
Her latest project, The Moonlight Sessions, is an intimate performance series with further recordings planned for 2027.
